The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has announced that it will publish the list of successful candidates for the upcoming Local Government Area elections in the state on Monday.
According to reports, there are controversies and suspicions surrounding the lack of public knowledge about the names of some aspirants and their respective political parties. The media has been excluded from the Commission’s activities, which goes against the public’s best interests.
Sources from the commission have alleged that there has been an order from higher authorities to exclude journalists from certain commission activities.
