Rt Hon. Chuma Nzeribe has reacted to the outcome of the concluded Anambra PDP 3 Ad-hoc ward congresses saying that he rejects in its entirety, the so-called report of the screening committee.
In a press release made available to 9News Nigeria from Dr Malik, his Media Advisor, Hon Chukwuma Nzeribe said: “My attention had been drawn to a jaundiced report of the so-called Screening Committee which I hereby reject in its entirety because it contains inaccurate reports of my interaction with the said Committee”
- As of the date I bear no conviction by any court anywhere in the world including Nigeria. My matter with EFCC is about ownership of the land I built my residential house in Maitama, Abuja and not about any fraud nor even any monetary transaction whatsoever.
- Please note that after my presentation to the Committee I was duly cleared as per the words of the Committee Chairman since petitions are NOT substantiated. In addition, other Committee members except for Engr. Izundu congratulated me. And I departed!
- According to sections 84(3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a political party can ONLY disqualify a candidate as consistent with sections 65, 66, 106, 107, 137, 177 of the Nigeria Constitution not by prejudice or hatchet job by a co-contestant in an election
- This committee went outside relevant Constitutional provisions to consider innuendoes and prejudices of its sponsor who’s simply afraid to stand for election against me in my Anambra South Senatorial turf.
- A member of the Committee Engr. Eddy Izundu is a staff and close relation of Chief Chris Uba and lives in his house till date and he cheaply tried to hide his face when I appeared. I’ve known Chief Uba for over 20 years and Eddy Izundu has been working and living with him. Therefore Chief Chris Uba can not be a judge in his own case. (Nemo judex in causa sua!)
- Their comments on my certificates are cheap and self-serving, and their conclusions lie only in the figment of their imaginations. Thank God they didn’t say I forged my certificates.
PLEASE NOTE that I presented the originals to the committee and the chairman said they didn’t actually need to see them. Why then did they write comments on the certificates they opted not to see?
