🟢GOVERNMENT MUST COME IN TO CHECK THE EXCESSES OF KILLINGS, HERDSMEN ATTACKS ACROSS THE REGIONS, COMMUNITIES

Following the excesses of attacks on innocent citizens, criminalities, insecurity and killings continuously going on cross several regions and rural communities in Nigeria, South East most affected, security experts hinted that Security can be reasonably managed and Serially checked through serious concerted partnership.

Speaking with 9News Nigeria, some high ranked security experts on a round table, hinted that community leaders, traditional rulers and stakeholders must call emergency meeting targetted at making frantic steps forward to organize round table discussion with the government to engage the Army, Air Force, Navy, Police and DSS to work at various trouble, village and other areas reported to be crime spots including rural communities.

This hint came, following reports of several killings and attacks on innocent citizens credited to Fulani herders across the states in the South East region.

In Imo state, farmers dare not visit their farmlands because of fear of attack by herders who have taken over the forests as their abode.

Several attacks on Farmers was carried out in their farms in the process of farming, weeding and harvesting. Abduction and Rape cases have also been reported across states and most of them was linked to Fulani herders.

9News Nigeria reports that at some points, the Fulani invaders have started engaging on several menial jobs touring across the tracks roads, hidden routes, rural communities, village farmlands, intra and inter state and eventually retire back to their hideouts across forests and lonely areas.

Fact check on various bus stops has confirmed seven (7) bike men out of every ten (10) to be fulani invaders without due identification or residential address as 9News Nigeria reports.

Also, refuse waste scavengers, iron and metal pickers, shoe menders and worst of it is that some of these Fulani invaders are venturing into house and street security coupled with river dredging business, petty trading and drinking bars.

Investigation has it that, some of their people are serving in the security forces and given them defensive shield at a blink of any reprisal attack or misunderstanding with the landlords.

At night hours , one can easily see crowds of Fulani invaders parading streets- to- streets while some others relax at drinking joints, football centers and bus stops monitoring innocent citizens to launch attack on them. At wee hours of both day and night, they’ll delve into crime and unexpected attacks on rural residents.

At an extensive chat with 9News, the security experts and detectives confirmed the recent high rise of insecurity across communities in Owerri zone Imo state. Also in Okigwe and Orlu zones, attacks are launched by herders at intervals. Other states like Enugu, Ebonyi , Anambra, Abia experience same heat of insecurity Inspite efforts by respective Governors to combat crime.

At several filling stations and uncompleted buildings, unfenced school premises, markets, abandon facilities along the streets and forests and several shanties are no go areas because these are places they hide, take cover and plan attack on people as 9News Nigeria reports.

I also learnt from the experts that CCTV, drones and helicopters can be used to track crime zones and fish out criminals. I also learnt from my discussion with the experts that the insecurity bedevilling our country is the activity of criminals not hoodlums.

Government was applauded on the extent they have invested to combat crime and insecurity but also told by experts that alot more concerted efforts must be put in place to secure the people against herders attack and restore security across boards.

In furtherance to our discussion, the security experts suggested that after a joint planning and strategy alignment to ensure everyone is working towards the same outcome, active participation and contribution of resources will follow.

There will be expertise and support from all involved, synchronized actions to maximize efficiency, minimize duplication and enhance impact, then mutual accountability towards teamwork, community development and problem solving -which will be anchored coordinated approach to tackle insecurity and herdsmen attack.

In finality, the way insecurity, criminality and corruption are growing in nowadays society, it will become dangerous and disastrous and may likely raise high apprehension, if no immediate measures are put in place by experts alongside the support of community leaders headed by the traditional rulers.

Meanwhile , everyone must be vigilant and report any suspected individual or group or any move perceived as danger , my chat with the experts ended.

However, the situation can be managed but the security experts suggested for immediate action by traditional rulers, stakeholders from rural villages where there’s insecurity, to discuss with the government to discuss with the service chiefs to mobilise security operatives across disturbing communities and troubled locations to curb crime and save the people from undue apprehension.
