Senator Dino Melaye, marks his birthday anniversary today Thursday, January 7, 2021, with a low-key celebrations by family and friends in Nigeria and United Arab Emirates (UAE) in line with COVID-19 protocols.
In a press release personaly signed by Senator Melaye to mark his birthday anniversary, the Kogi State-born iconic politician and businessman said he will continue to serve the nation, inspire others and stand by the truth at all times irrespective whose ox is gored.
“Given the ‘new normal’ and in the spirit of the New Year 2021, I am bound to soberly reflect on God’s countless mercies over my life and my family members in the recent past particularly in the course of my political advocacy for a New Nigeria as a member of Nigeria’s highest legislative body from 2015 to 2019.
“Also, given the exigencies of the moment, I am using this occasion to call on President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet members to demonstrate exemplary leadership by accepting to be vaccinated with the much-anticipated COVID-19 vaccine before it will be administered on willing Nigerians.
“This is also another opportunity to remind President Buhari of the nation’s teething problems and the need to overcome them in line with his campaign promises in 2015 and 2019 elections. Needless to mention insecurity, disunity and rising cost of living bedeviling Nigerians, among others.
“While I will continue to follow my passion of serving the nation in any capacity I find myself, I will not stop inspiring the younger generation and women to take more interest in governance and nation-building.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I assure my supporters, admirers and all Nigerians of my continuous stand by the truth at all times and holding government accountable at all levels no matter whose ox is gored.
“Finally, I thank Nigerians both at home and abroad for the love shown me during my trying moments as a victim of police brutality, failed orchestrated recall exercise, which consumed millions of Kogi taxpayers’ money, outright stealing of my mandate at the 2019 elections, instigated mutiple court cases, assassination attempts, among others. I thank you all brethren.
I pray that the Almighty God will grant me good health, strength and more wisdom to keep serving the country and humanity in the years to come, Dino Melaye concluded.
