At thursday’s plenary in Owerri Imo state Nigeria, two suspended law makers were recalled and were asked to resume duty officially as the law permits.
9News Nigeria reports that the honourable members of the State House of Assembly applauded the recalling procedure of Hon. Okey Onyekanma, and Hon. Ekene Nnodimele which was based on the adhoc report presented before the floor of the house.
It was evident to witness the decision to recall the suspended lawmakers was based on the report of an ad-hoc committee headed by the Majority Leader and Member Representing Owerri West state constituency, Rt. Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi, Egbe Eji Eje Ogu gburugburu.
The Kanayo Onyemaechi’s Led report was unbiased and factual having reeled out cogent reasons for their recall. Majority Leader Kanayo Dele Onyemaechi is known as a man with huge legislative prowess and experience.
The Former Deputy Speaker of Imo House of Assembly, Okey Onyekanma, and his honourable colleague Ekene Nnodimele were recalled after the house suspended them for 18 months .
Other members of the Onyemaechi led committee included Hon. Johnson Iheonukara Duru – Ideato South, Hon. Frank Ugboma – Oguta, and Hon. Emeka Nduka – Ehime Mbano.
With this latest development, Hon. Okey Onyekanma, and Hon. Ekene Nnodimele are expected to resume their official legislation with immediate effect.
