The Cherubim and Seraphim movement church on Saturday anchored a symposium themed beacon of hope for a new Nigeria, the event took place in Lagos state.
The event was to promote peace and unity between the people in Nigeria. The State, Society and Church all have a role to play in the betterment of the country.
The opening address was made by Special apostle pastor George Ogunleye.
He recognized the most important dignitaries and as well, gave credit to them for their positive impacts on the state, society and church.
The keynote address was read by Pastor Seyi Malomo the chaplain of Aso villa, who represented the vice president of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo He urged people to “inspire the community with honesty, goodly character as well as been patriotic”.
Pastor Femi Soyemi Shepherd, Disciples of Christ ministry one of the speakers as well Commented about how everyone is responsible for the position as well as the outcome of this country. he moved on by Commending the former governor of Lagos state Raji Babatunde Fashola “for a job well done and advised him to continue with the good work”.
Babatunde Raji Fashola expressed himself as well as one of the panellists who concluded about how we all have challenges and still have challenges. He advised that we do things to make the country move forward, rather than sit and keep praying for a good country. This clearly explains the saying “Work and Pray”.
According to him “We choose what we become, The country that we don’t like, has become the safest country to other citizens from another country”. He however pressed on by saying the hope of Nigeria, “are those Nigerians that never gave up”.
Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi one of the 2023 Presidential election candidates also commented about how youths and women should be given a chance of leadership in the country.
