Everyone is talking about coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and everywhere you look there is information on the virus and how to protect yourself from it. Knowing the facts is key to being properly prepared and protecting yourself and your loved ones.

As the global coronavirus pandemic enters its second year governments are racing to vaccinate populations as novel variants emerge and people relax their vigilance around physical distancing, mask-wearing, and other public health interventions. Prospects for school reopening, renewed travel, and herd immunity remain uncertain for the coming years.

The world is currently witnessing a dramatic disruption of everyday life owing to the rapid progression of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

As the pandemic evolves, there is an urgent need to better understand its epidemiology, characterize its potential impact, and identify mitigatory strategies to avert pandemic-related problems.

There is a need for a tool to evaluate the extent to which public health policy and/or economic preparedness measures are effectively averting COVID-19 related problems.

The inception of the Covid 19 which resulted to be a global pandemic that has caused a lot of disruption of existing protocols, claims millions of lives. While commending the attitudinal response of Global leaders towards curbing the pandemic to further curtail the spread we can vividly see that there are some limitations to what the government can do to ensure the continuous outbreak of the pandemic.

It is imperative for the citizens to know how they can support the government in curtaining the spread by taking precautionary measures, adhere to public guidelines, and promote advocacy programs put up by the government.

There is a need to address this issue one more time. 148M total cases worldwide; 85.6M recovered cases with 3.12M deaths.
With the global spotlight on COVID-19 testing, we can expect a flooding of tests on the market.

This makes it even more imperative to focus on quality metrics to inform selection, procurement, and deployment decisions.

This poses significant challenges for governments who need reliable test results to create evidence-driven pandemic response strategies.
