The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE and the quick as wink transformation of Ebonyi State to a city everyone desires to be have been on the lips of all Nigerians and beyond as it is surprising how it was made possible with the meagre resources available in the state.
Several leaders that have visited Ebonyi State before and now when comparing the duo have different descriptions on the Ebonyi Transformation and who Governor Umahi is. To the President, HE Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Umahi is always concerned about what to do in Ebonyi, he never talk politics or any other thing if not the development of Ebonyi State and his people; To the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo , Governor Umahi is a bridge builder whose interest is beyond political party; To Fmr. President, HE Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Umahi is a magician and a kind of man needed to lead Nigeria; to the National PDP Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Gov. Umahi is a blessing to the people of Ebonyi state and beyond, he is judicious, prudence and have the interest of Ebonyians at heart; To a Veteran Actor, Chief Pete Edochie MON, Governor Umahi must have a Money printing machine in his house to have been able to achieve all these in just 4 years, the things happening in Ebonyi is beyond description and he doesn’t know where to borrow words from in describing it; to Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike, Governor Umahi’s wisdom will be of great benefit to all other states in Nigeria, it is fantabulous and fabulous etc.
The above testaments are speaking for the very singular reason – Umahi and the quick transformation of Ebonyi State.
I took the newly reconstructed St. Margaret Umahi’s International market as a sample after watching a video on where we were and where we are now.
No one will see the before and after pictures of the International market and remain mute without expressing confidence on the Engineering cum leadership prowess of Governor Umahi. The market was a good initiative by the immediate past Governor of Ebonyi State, HE Martin Elechi but the construction was not just poorly done but not safe for inhabitation.
In truism, the market was like a matchbox without any opening for ventilation. It befits the description of what an ordinary man will call a white elephant project. It was professionally accessed and discovered that it fails all standard building test and as such, the present Governor took it upon himself to transform, rebuild and give the market a true look of what international marker is.
It is in the premise of the above that some Market traders got their mind poisoned but after visiting the New International Market, it was seen that the traders will be going higher from where they were. The market features include, a Police Post, Work and Study Centre, White house, Fire Service Station, Market Cell etc.
The New Ebonyi is undoubtedly emerging the finest across the country as the Governor has severally been confirmed the best performing Governor across the country by several national and international organizations.
