Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Carter Efe, has suffered a major setback after his Twitch account was temporarily suspended, barely days after his historic livestream with Afrobeats superstar, Davido.

Truthng reports that the suspension, announced on Monday, comes on the heels of what many described as a career-defining moment for the comedian, who recently emerged as Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer.

Carter Efe’s Twitch page witnessed explosive growth following his livestream with Davido on December 17, 2025, an event that drew massive attention across social media platforms.

The livestream not only became one of the most-watched Twitch broadcasts by an African creator, but it also pushed Carter Efe’s follower count to over 405,000, placing him ahead of fellow Nigerian content creators, including Shank Comics.

However, the celebration was short-lived.

In a statement shared with his followers, the skitmaker revealed that Twitch had placed a four-month suspension on his account, citing violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Notably, Twitch did not disclose the specific nature of the alleged violations, leaving fans and industry observers speculating about what may have gone wrong.

Following the announcement, Carter Efe’s social media pages were flooded with messages of support from fans and well-wishers, many of whom described him as a “joy giver” and called on Twitch to reconsider its decision.

Several supporters urged the streaming platform to review the suspension, arguing that the comedian’s content was largely meant for entertainment and humour.

Online speculation has since emerged suggesting that the suspension may have resulted from mass reporting, possibly linked to comments, jokes or antics during the Davido livestream.

However, reports claiming that Carter Efe was also banned on other platforms were dismissed as false, as his accounts on other social media platforms remain active.

The development has sparked disappointment among fans, especially as the suspension coincides with the festive season, a period many believe would have further boosted the comedian’s visibility and earnings.

As of the time of filing this report, Twitch has yet to issue a detailed explanation, while fans continue to call for a swift resolution to the matter.
