Traditional Ruler of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community in Owerri West local government area of Imo state Nigeria has flagged off the 2022 Women August conference Friday August 26th 2022.
Eze Morison SJ Eke PhD was at the event few hours ago where he officially Unveiled the Umuoma August conference at the community Civic center built by the women Association.
Women of the community trooped out en-masse to grace the occasion wearing colourful attires of various kinds while looking elegant and adorable to behold.
Eze Eke pointed out the importance of unity and love amongst all towns that made up Umuoma autonomous community, particularly as it concerns the coming together of the women group.In his remarks, Omadike told the women to embrace peace and love one another.
He however noted with dismay the sharp divide amongst the women which according to him has brought undemocratic set back in development and hampered leadership in the area.
The Royal Father approved the extension of Mrs Ijeoma Azuike’s tenure till the Easter period when possibly all wrangles and rifts among the women of Umuoma will be resolved.
He charged the women to be of good cheers, be focused to their responsibilities and promised to empower Ten women of the community with a hundred thousand Naira grant each, to set up respective meagre businesses.
The women expressed happiness for the presence of Eze Omadike and his reputable entourage who stormed the venue to add life and ambiance to the occasion.
In her welcome address and words of appreciation, the women president, Mrs Azuike reeled out the association’s achievements from year 2019 to 2022 which was excellent and impressive to the Umuoma people.
She further stated some challenges bedevilling the Women and pleaded with Umuoma people and their invitees of good heart to support their grand project cum launching of Ten million naira to purchase a Coaster Bus.
The theme of 2022 women’s August conference was taken from the Book of Hebrew 12 vs 2 which says ” Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of Faith” This also implies that with the burning faith seen radiating on Umuoma Nekede women, good leadership is assured. There was lightning of candles to herald light of progress in the community.
The women jointly call on their people through 9News Nigeria to come together to fight crime, drug abuse and check insecurity in the area to make Umuoma safe.
In furtherance, the Producers of a particular health supplement, LOETUE PURE cocoa concentrate came for presentation and sensitization of organic base supplements to the women and pleaded for a wider forum to educate the community on the needed benefits of their products.
Traditional Prime Minister Nze Sir Obinna Aharanwa, onetime principal secretary to Prince Eze Madumere Mfr, former Deputy governor of Imo state made a wonderful closing remarks while assuring Umuoma women of their total support to remain united.
The make up of the Royal entourage to the women August conference included TPM Nze Aharanwa, Cabinet Chairman High Chief Patrick Nwaneri, PPA Kelechi Oparanozie, Chairman of all Chairmen, Mr Kelechi Anah, Youth Chairmen led by Comrade Nanas Aharanwa, Community Public Relation Officer, Notable Chiefs, Clergymen and many dignitaries too numerous to mention.
