DETAILS: While serious discussion lasts, Niger Army Denies Nigerian Soldiers Access to Bosso, our reporters disclosed. This has continued to linger without adhering to the restrictions and orders of the leadership of the communities of African Union and US.

It is undemocratic for the coup to take place in a civil state. Dissolution and sack of foreign ambassadors to Niger Republic by the military Juntas is not the best approach to arrest their differences. It could lead to wide unrest if not handle carefully and tactically.

The situation is a challenge and more broadly , a leadership test ground for the newly elected leadership of the AU led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. Though Nigeria government has condemned such act by the military Juntas in Niger Republic, efforts are doubled to restore Bazoum as democracy demands.

So far, the neighbouring towns of Malam Fatori in Nigeria and Bosso in Niger, which were once connected by a friendly daily interaction between Nigerian Army soldiers and Niger Republic soldiers in Bosso, are now experiencing heightened tension and hostility due to recent events.

In the aftermath of ECOWAS sanctions and the declaration of potential military action, Nigeria and Niger find themselves in a delicate situation. As a result, Nigerian soldiers are facing an unfortunate setback as they have been denied access to Bosso town to source items for their daily lives and basic provisions.

However, ECOWAS delegation currently held crucial talks with Coup plotters in Niger while awaiting positive outcome.

A high-level delegation, representing the ECOWAS Chairman President Bola Tinubu,  comprising former Head of State Rtd Gen Abdulsalami, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the President of ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Omar Alieu Touray, has continued to discuss with the coup plotters in an effort to restore stability to the nation.

In Niamey, the capital city of Niger, ongoing protests erupted earlier in response to the recent ECOWAS sanctions imposed on the country. Demonstrators are voicing their discontent, expressing concerns over the potential impact of the sanctions on the nation’s economy and stability.

This led to the presidential order to shutdown Sokoto boarders in Nigeria. But our correspodent gathered that if the reinforcement is not followed headon, this looming unrest may escalate to neighbouring countries.

Meanwhile heavy Gunfire Across Nigeria’s Niger republic border has left the residents of Muria Village a border town of Nigeria and the Niger Republic experienced several heavy gunshots by ISWAP since this coup begun.

During the incident, the terrorists engaged in burglary, targeting local shops, and looting and extorting money and valuable items from the terrified residents.

In a display of courage, the Niger Forces stationed at Chetima Ganga, Niger Republic, promptly responded to the distress call and successfully rescued the affected residents.

Regrettedly, Boko Haram extremists also executed two persons as an advantage of this unrest. Reportedly two innocent individuals, Bunu Grema (male) and Amsa Kangadi (female), fell victim to the brutality of Boko Haram in Dogomolu Village, Duji Ward which is a border town between Nigeria and Niger.

The abductors were reportedly demanded a hefty ransom. Despite the family’s earnest efforts, negotiations with the kidnappers proved unsuccessful within the given two-day timeframe.

On the third day of August, at approximately 12:55 hours, eye witnesses told Newsmen that the family embarked on a quest to locate their loved ones but following the footprints, their search led them to Meleri Village, where they were confronted with an unimaginable horror of the lifeless bodies of Bunu Grema and Amsa Kangadi scattered beyond recognition.

All these happenings rose at the moment the Niger Coup Leader appointed new Governors and Secretary to Government of Niger Republic through a coup d’etat.

In a significant reshuffle following the coup in Niger, Brigadier General Ibrahim Bagadoma has been appointed as the new governor to Diffa Region. Additionally, the coup leader has assigned other key positions across the country. The appointments encompass various sectors, including the army, national guard, gendarmerie, police, and forest guard as gathered by our correspodent.

Notably, the appointment of Secretary to the Government (SGG) Maman Laouali Roufai seems so important as an addition to the new leadership structure as gathered by Newsmen.

Recall that as the situation is about calming down through several negotiations, several world leaders are calling for a seize fire and release of
Niger’s Bazoum.

Thursday 3-08-2023, US President Joe Biden called for the immediate release of Niger’s elected President Mohamed Bazoum and for the country’s democracy to be preserved.

“I call for President Bazoum and his family to be immediately released, and for the preservation of Niger’s hard-earned democracy,” Biden said in a statement Thursday, the 63rd anniversary of Niger’s independence.

“In this critical moment, the United States stands with the people of Niger to honor our decades-long partnership rooted in shared democratic values and support for civilian-led governance,” he said.

But upon calls from various AU communities and the United States, the coup leaders are keen to a continued unrest in Niger Republic bringing down the value of Democracy in the region. The unrest is undemocratic and unimaginable our Niger source frowned.

Our reporters will be feeding us with the latest development from the republic of Niger while praying for more efforts to resolve the unrest.
