The United States and Nigeria have moved to deepen cooperation in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
This new development followed high-level security talks in Stuttgart, Germany.
Members of the U.S. Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAFRICA) recently met with the Director of Operations at Nigeria’s Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), Brigadier General N. Ashinze, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral security cooperation.
The discussions focused on degrading terrorist networks across the region and identifying opportunities for the United States to support and enhance Nigerian-led counter-terrorism operations.
The meeting shows the growing strategic security partnership between Nigeria and the United States, particularly in addressing terrorism and violence across West Africa and the Sahel.
