The Chairman of the Action Peoples Party in Rivers State, Hon. Sunny Wokekoro, has reaffirmed the party’s readiness for the upcoming council election on October 5. Speaking to journalists at the state party secretariat in Port Harcourt, Hon. Wokekoro stated that the party has completed its pre-election activities and is gearing up for campaigns.
He also disclosed that the party has already screened 319 ward candidates, 23 chairmanship candidates, and vice chairmen in preparation for the election. Hon. Wokekoro emphasized that despite the short time left before the election, the party has been prepared since the timetable was released by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSEIC).
Furthermore, he expressed confidence in the party’s candidates, citing the support they have received from the people of Rivers State across political parties. He noted that the party’s policies and programs have attracted widespread support, and he anticipates a victory for the party’s candidates in the forthcoming election.
In addition, Hon. Wokekoro urged party supporters and leaders to conduct themselves with decorum and civility during the election, emphasizing the importance of a level playing field for all political parties. He commended Governor Siminialayi Fubara for fostering an environment in which all political parties can thrive.
