The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, claims to be in talks with the United Nations to hold a referendum for a sovereign state of Biafra. The Referendum which is expected to take place in all Biafran territories within it boundaries will be conducted with international observers on ground.
The claim was contained in a statement by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful.
Emma Powerful said IPOB was making efforts for the referendum any moment from now.
Promising that the exercise would be peaceful, the group said everybody resident within Biafra territory would vote according to their conscience. I can tell you our people are ready for this and I can assure you the exercise will be a successful one he said.
