Yobe State governor , Mai Mala Buni has commissioned some projects in Borno State on Wednesday.
The projects were executed by Borno State governor Prof Babagana Umara Zulum.
They includes, the dualization of Shehu Garbai Road and the Borno Express Flyover, both situated in the state capital, Maiduguri.
The commissioning ceremony took place at the Metro Housing premises.
During the official commissioning, Governor Buni thanked Zulum for inviting him to commission the projects, acknowledging their importance in promoting development in Borno State.
He emphasized the brotherhood between Borno and Yobe states, saying they share a culture and tradition.
“As we are all aware, Borno and Yobe states have always been one. We are a people binded by the same culture and tradition that are simply demarcated for administrative convenience.
”Today, Borno and Yobe states are both striving to emerge out of that challenge by adopting the Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery programme.
“On our part, we have invested heavily in education, Healthcare delivery, agriculture, and empowerment for sustainable means of livelihood to give the state and its people a promising future.
“This year, we launched a multi billion Naira agricultural empowerment programme which redefined agricultural production at the end of the harvest season,” Buni stated.
He also invited Governor Zulum to a commissioning program in Yobe State.
Other projects are Housing Units, located at Njimtilo, a community outskirts of Maiduguri.
In his remarks, Governor Zulum thanked Buni for honoring his invitation.
He also expressed his commitment to delivering projects in the state, including a conference center and housing schemes for personnel.
“Sir your presence today is a testament that shows strong bond between our region and our shared committment regionally intergration and developlment.
“Indeed we celebrate the commissioning of Njimtilo 500 housing unit estate, Metro housing unit, Borno express flyover and dualisation of shehu Garbai road.
“Where this project were designed to provide a comfortable and secured living and committing environment to our citizens and also reduce conjunction and improve business activities,” Zulum said.
The governor equally thanked the federal government for their support in the execution of the projects.
