Nigerian singer, Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi has accused his former label boss, Dapper, of withholding royalty income from 46 songs.

Shallipopi made the allegations in a post on Friday, claiming that Dapper was still holding money owed to him from his music catalogue.

The singer also alleged that Dapper took the catalogues of artistes to Virgin Music and received a lump-sum payment, which he claimed was not properly accounted for or distributed.

According to Shallipopi, the dispute has forced him to engage lawyers and pursue legal and regulatory avenues over the alleged outstanding payments.

“You dey hold me 46 songs royalty income including my ‘E Don Cast’ money,” Shallipopi alleged.

The singer further claimed that he had learnt more about the music business and financial transparency after leaving the label, saying he had become more aware of how royalties and revenue flows are managed.

Shallipopi also warned that he was prepared to pursue the matter further.

Shallipopi’s latest allegations revive a dispute that followed his departure from Dapper’s label in December 2024.

At the time, the singer reportedly alleged that Dapper attempted to get him to sign a long-term agreement after learning that he wanted to leave the label.

Shallipopi, following his departure, released Laho, which went on to become one of his biggest records and achieved international attention.

The development follows separate public accusations involving Dapper and other artistes associated with his business operations.

Artistes including T.I Blaze and Seyi Vibez have recently been involved in public disputes concerning alleged royalty and financial issues.
