Earlier today, Minister for Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande attended the Youth Action Event organized by the Central Bank of Nigeria themed “The Youths Are Here,” which held at the CBN Headquarters in Abuja.
The Minister commended the Central Bank of Nigeria for its initiatives aimed at equipping young people with leadership and digital skills, particularly in the areas of governance reform, digital transformation, and climate action.
At the event, Olawande proposed the establishment of a dedicated Youth Desk Officer at the Central Bank of Nigeria. The YDO, he said, will serve as a liaison between the CBN and the Ministry of Youth Development, ensuring strategic alignment and effective implementation of youth-focused programs.
The Minister also reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to partnering with the CBN and other stakeholders to develop and execute transformative policies and programs that address the challenges facing Nigerian youth, such as unemployment, financial exclusion, and digital illiteracy.
Olawande concluded his remarks with a call on stakeholders to prioritize collective action to empower Nigerian youth and secure the country’s future; expressing optimism that a brighter future for Nigerian youth is possible through strong partnerships and collaborations.
