Information Obtained by 9News Nigeria reports that Mudashiru Obasa has been reinstated as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Obasa was reinstated following the resignation of Mojisola Meranda, who stepped down from the role with immediate effect.

Earlier on Monday, Mudashiru Obasa, Mojisola Meranda and all the lawmakers at the Lagos State House of Assembly held a meeting outside the chambers.

Leaders of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, including Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, were also at the meeting, as the state Attorney General, Lawal Pedro, was also present.

Meanwhile, Mojisola Meranda has resigned as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Meranda made this known during plenary on Monday while reading her resignation letter, noting that she resigned alongside all principal officers appointed alongside her.
