A 14-year-old Secondary School Student, identified as Nickness Ayo, has committed suicide after mother pressured her to name the man who pregnated her.
The incident occurred on Saturday in Egba village in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.
The young girl returns home from school showing signs of pregnancy.
Her mother noticed and accosted her, asking her who was responsible for the pregnancy.
It was when the mum said she would take her to the clinic for test that Nickness ran away to an unknown destination.
She was later found in her room writhing in pain after investing Gamalin a toxic pesticide.
She was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, she died while on the way to the General Hospital where they were refered to from the clinic.
