As the 2019 general elections approach, many Nigerian politicians are seriously consulting and angling for opportunities to actualize their ambitions.
One of Such politicians is Ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar. PoliticsNGR has learnt that the political heavyweight and APC chieftain is holding secret talks with opposition party, PDP.
According to This Day, he is considering a return to the party that has since resolved its leadership crisis.Serious pressure is coming from the Adamawa chapter of the PDP asking their former member to return to the fold and be the presidential flag bearer for the party.
Atiku has previously had two unsuccessful shots at the presidency and it is believed that his ambition is still alive and will attempt contesting again.
A source in the PDP said; “The secret discussions are ongoing with a wing of the leadership of the PDP and this has encouraged the former vice-president to start consultations with critical leaders in the northern and southern parts of the country.
However, Atiku has informed the PDP leaders who have approached him to guarantee him the nomination of the party for the presidential election before he can leave the APC, as he does not want to be messed up for the third time,”.
