The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Plateau central senatorial zone Mr Golkuna Gotom has called on independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to be fair and just by declaring him winner of the February 25 National Assembly election which he convinced he won.

Speaking with journalists in Jos, Gotom wondered why the results of the elections have not been announced almost two weeks after the exercise and expressed worry over plans to manipulate the results. Gotom alleged that figures were mutilated and cancelled to favor a political party and raised eyebrows over a result sheet which scored zero in some polling units, a situation he described as absurd.

He alleged that figure in Kanam local government areas are always held back waiting for other local government areas to announce their so that they know by which margin of votes to be used to rig the result and stressed that BIVAS has been able to address the issues.

Gotom, who presented a result sheet that has mutilated as well as one that had a result which he said he got from the INEC server, stressed that from all calculations he won the elections with more than twenty six thousand votes.

The PDP Candidate raised three basic issues as his prayers which include, computation errors, mutilation of results and over voting in some areas, noting that he will not accept any supplementary elections as he has won the elections.
