🟢We are ready for the election -INEC
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has warned INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu not to succumb to the alleged from the All Progressives Congress APC National officer said to be related to professor Sylvia Agu.
Though the above statement from PDP leadership is an allegation against the REC, the party has restated pressure to sack of Professor Sylvia.
This pressure is coming few days to the 2023 Governorship Election slated to hold simultaneously in three states of Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa states on Saturday 11th day of November.
INEC on their grounds have told the petitioners that the procedure of election does not permit such. The election is few days ahead and people are calling fir the redeployment of REC assigned to Imo state to conduct the guber election.
The Imo state PDP stated that, Senator Samuel Anyanwu is leading in the three senatorial zones and the twenty seven Local Government Areas.
But supprisingly, the PDP did not present their facts of collation of results from both the senatorial zones and the LGAs to ascertain their claims as contained in their communique.
Nigerians are calling for a free and fair elections in the three states where the GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS will be done.
The National publicity secretary of PDP, Mr Debo Ologunnagba stated the above at a press briefing in Abuja. He has also claimed that no other party has campaigned as vigorously as the PDP in all the states concerned.
The PDP has also boosted that their candidates in Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi will win convincingly given the facts on ground. He added that apart from PDP, no other political party has right kind of policy and programmes, targetted at improving the welfare and wellbeing of ordinary citizens.
In the political camp of LP, their candidates are keen to go for the contest having the same notions that played out during the peter Obi psunami which gave the House of Representatives and senators of the party a winning ground.
The All Progressives Congress has also featured serious candidates across the three states but the most active in the pre election activities is that of Imo state Athan Achonu.
Recall that LP governorship candidate for Imo was in court with a fellow LP governorship candidate who is still pushing his case headon. The voters are of the notion that any vote casted to Athan will be a wasted vote if the case in court is not trashed out.
His PDP rival, SamDaddy Anyanwu going tough as the day breaks in the political space. He is not taking his campaign for granted but the incumbent is likely to defeat him pending the efficacy of the power of incumbency and the propagation of the CHARTER OF EQUITY in the state.
The PDP also alleged that Imo INEC had been having serious meetings on several cases as it concern Imo state election. The party however alleged that preponderance of opinion in INEC was that it was imperative that Professor Sylvia Agu should be redeployed in order to maintain the integrity and neutrality of INEC.
For records, the most three serious Guber candidates in each of the three states are as follow:
For Kogi state , we have Honourables Ajaka, Melaye and Ododo. In Bayelsa state, we have Diri, Sylva and Eradiri. In Imo state, we have Uzodinma, Anyanwu and Achonu.
These three from each state are my first possible projections of where the winning governorship candidate is likely trace from, out of them all in the Saturday November 11 Governorship Election in the states concerned.
