The Emir of Daura, Faruk Umar Faruk who is President Muhammadu Buhari’s traditional ruler has married a 20-year-old bride, Aisha Iro Maikano, on Saturday.
Emir Faruk is an endless polygamist with other older wives whom he divorced some to have grounds to marry new ones less he violates the Sharia law which has a maximum of wives to have under a polygamous roof at a time.
Aisha Iro Maikano is Faruk’s 5th younger wives married within six years.
Faruk, born 1921 had a very brief courtship with Maikano and tied the knot with the young girl who just exited her teenage age in low key marriage ceremony in Katsina.
9News Nigeria learnt the Daura Emir didn’t attend the wedding fatiha by himself but sent Magajin Garin Daura, Musa Umar to represent him.
Sources close to the royal family said the emir divorced all his three wives recently, and planned to pick a new set of four wives.
A bride price of N1million naira was paid to Fagacin Katsina, Iro Maikano father of the bride.
