The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State, Mr. Francis Nwaze has lambasted the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in the State, Elder Fred Udeogu for being a purveyor of fake news in the State.

9news Nigeria had reported that Udeogu raised an alarm over alleged plots by the dissolved Nwebonyi-led group to attack its Party Secretariat using members of the Akubaraoha Youth Assembly, AYA.

In a statement made available to 9News Nigeria on Tuesday, Mr Francis Nwaze said Udeogu is mentally unstable and will need to be examined immediately as he, from his riddles of a failed party, is loosing his mind.

He noted that Governor of Ebonyi State is uninterested in matters about the PDP hence he in November 2020 made a historic switch to the ruling All Progressives Congress and should not be fingered in the baptism of fire overwhelming the last vestige of the once populist party in the State.

According to him, “it is very laughable when Udeogu at his level could be inundated in children’s riddles and jokes as to hold to an ordinary invitation to meeting by the Akubaroha Youth Assembly as a plan to burn down the PDP headquarters, if this is his interpretation of the alleged “Chopper’s text message” I say grow up to Chief Fred Udeogu.”

The statement reads,

PRESS RELEASE

UDEOGU: AN UNTIRING BLABBERMOUTH, NEEDS MENTAL EXAMINATION

My attention has been drawn to another false alarm by the factional Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi state over alleged plans to burn down the party’s headquarters in the state by those loyal to the State Government.

The allegation was contained in a statement by the acclaimed Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Chief Fred Udeogu .

According to the statement, “the PDP was alerted by the SMS which circulated in the State on Sunday night by Mr. Mark Onu, also known as Chopper inviting Ebonyi Youths to converge at the Women Development Centre, Ezza Road, Abakaliki, for an important information without their normal ‘Akubaraoha’ vest.”

Udeogu in the statement also accused Governor Umahi of being a member of a secret cult since 2016.

He further accused the Governor of instigating the crises between Effium and Ezza Effium people in Ohaukwu Local Government Area.

Ordinarily, I would have chosen not to join issues with a man ridden in fake news and blackmail but the severity of his spurious allegations makes it inevitable for me to put the record straight; hence this.

Let me state again for the umpteenth time that the Governor of Ebonyi State is uninterested in matters about the PDP hence he in November 2020 made a historic switch to the ruling All Progressives Congress and should not be fingered in the baptism of fire overwhelming the last vestige of the once populist party in the State.

It is very laughable when Udeogu at his level could be inundated in children’s riddles and jokes as to hold to an ordinary invitation to meeting by the Akubaroha Youth Assembly as a plan to burn down the PDP headquarters, if this is his interpretation of the alleged “Chopper’s text message” I say grow up to Chief Fred Udeogu.

Udeogu is mentally unstable and will need to be examined immediately as he, from his riddles of a failed party, is loosing his mind.

Come to think of it, how can the Governor be a member of a secret cult and still declare full-blown war against cultism to the extent of placing a prize on the heads of cultists across the State? How then could Udeogu turn around and accuse the number one fighter of cultists of being a member? Is it not a mark of insanity?

Most regrettable is the political coloration of the carnages between Effium and Ezza Effium people in Ohaukwu Local Government by the creeping voices of the remnants of the house of Saul which Udeogu personally represents.

Governor Umahi as a responsible and responsive leader is deeply worried over the disagreement between the two brothers and has taken decisive actions to quell the crises including a personal visit to the troubled area, immediate suspension of leaders from the area for not curtailing the crises on time among others.

For Udeogu to turn around and accuse Umahi of encouraging crises in his domain is the height of thoughtlessness all aimed at achieving cheap political points.

I, therefore, urge the likes of Fred Udeogu to desist from playing politics with human lives through fake news as I call on security agencies to arrest and prosecute all purveyors of fake news in the State to serve as a deterrent to others.

The general public is encouraged to disregard the kitchen concocted terse which in it represents entirety the state of mind of a man in a perpetual battle with political amnesia, Fred Udeogu.
