Anambra Election and Insecurity: ELFON WARNS against Sit-at-home order

By Princely Onyenwe, Imo –

Following the state of insecurity in ANAMBRA state of NIGERIA, a conglomerate of National Leadership GROUPs, Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria ELFON has called on all Anambarians to go exercise their franchise and vote for their best choice of Governor in their state.

Meanwhile, a report has it that the killings bedevilling the state were targeted at disrupting the country’s unity, having the south East zone at higher risk.

In furtherance to the need for Anambra people to come out en-masse to cast their vote for their Governorship choice, ELFON has released this communique.

The original copy of the release reads thus:

EMERGING LEADERS FORUM RESOLVES, MOVES TO ENFORCE SANITY.

Anambra State Chapter Of The Emerging Leaders Forum Of Nigeria(ELFON), composed of a strong coalition of leaderships of deeply patriotic, progressive, vibrant young minds and youth fronts, such as Anambra State Council Of Youths, Catholic Youth Organization Of Nigeria, National Youth Council Of Nigeria, National Union Of Anambra State Students, Youth Assembly Of Nigeria, National Union Of Road Transport Workers, Union Of Anambra Keke Napep Drivers, Anambra State Mechanics Association, Partners for good Governance among others, who are here, in a well informed circumstantial summit of today, Tuesday 2nd, November 2021, responsively resolved to enforce sanity and security as follows:

1) That the holding of a CREDIBLE, FREE and FAIR Governorship Election to enthrone an acceptable state leadership for Ndi Anambra, as already scheduled for November 6th 2021 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, is not NEGOTIABLE.
This will be so, to avoid a constitutional breach that will lead to an ALIEN GOVERNMENT in Anambra State.

2) That the accredited Law Enforcement Agents are enjoined to collaborate with Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria and eminent patriotic bodies in Anambra to forestall VOTER APATHY.

3) That the Federal Government is urged, as a matter of urgency to invoke concrete audacity to transparently address the imbalance in appointments and core issues of injustice that catalyzed agitations in the Southeast and other zones of the country for National Unity.

4) That the current destruction of the IGBO ECONOMY through the imposition, brazen extension and mischievous hijack of the SIT AT HOME ORDERS in the South East, shall receive a permanent solution in the coming Emerging Leaders National Unity CONFAB.

These resolutions shall not admit of any COMPROMISE.

This COMMUNIQUE is made under our hands thus:

Amb. Celestine Uchechukwu Obi – ELFON Secretary, Anambra state

Comr. Chineze Charles Ezeaniekwe – Anambra state YAN Ambassador
