9News Nigeria

From 9News Nigeria (Owerri)

9News Nigeria Owerri reports that there was no invasion of criminals or Ebubeagu along Douglas and Bank road as reported by many online users. Such breaking stories have been dominating the media space and Imo people are engraved in high tension.

This has led our correspodents in Owerri to swiftly rush into action to engage with the actual happenings along Douglas Road as at the time of this report.

We therefore gathered that ENTRACO Officials are at work to chase road side traders away to vacate the road.

Imolites have to ignore every negative report or media propaganda that has related same evacuation of roadside traders by ENTRACO officials to insecurity issues in Imo state Nigeria.

It is important to advise the People to be guided and be law abiding and not to use every little opportunity that comes up to cause trouble of to loot at random. There is no invasion as rumoured by detractors.

9News Nigeria reports that it is the right course of the new ENTRACO to sustain this tempo to get rid of road side traders and illegal vehicular packing along busy roads in Owerri. The busy douglas road is the most affected.

While interviewing some affected traders, 9News Nigeria (Owerri) gathered that the New ENTRACO GM has gone round to inform them of this development that led to its full operation today Thursday 21-07-2022, but the traders have continued to prove stubborn to this warning and have insisted to return to the road anytime the officials left.

However, the basis of argument between the traders and the task force agents is that the government has not provided any alternative market for them to relocate while stating that both the former New market Owerri was converted to Mother and Child hospital by the then Okorocha’s adminstration.

The traders noted with dismay the wastages incured by the abandonment of such state edifice. They adviced the Hope Uzodinma’s Administration to relocate traders to the former New market.

In furtherance, the Government Officials who spoke to 9News Nigeria Owerri in a hurry maintained that the douglas road must be free from road side trading amongst other streets like Mbaise road, Tetlow, Royce and others.

Meanwhile, it is in the policy of the state government under GOVERNOR Hope Uzodinma to improve Imo and bring back the beauty of the then clean and green enforcement that gave Imo the cleanest state in NIGERIA.

Imolites have to understand this fact and cooperate with the state government to make Imo governable and better than what it use to be in the past to accommodate more advancement, technological innovations and sanity of law and order.

The ENTRACO enforcement is a welcome idea that has to be supported to reduce regular dumping of refuse generated from the market and blocking of Douglas Road by loading public vehicles.

I report from the scene!!
