From Princely Onyenwe
History was made in London early Saturday at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey in central London.
The Most significant factor at the coronation was the regalia and the type of oil that was used at the event. The regalia was of the old as inherited while the oil was simply blessed annioting oil.
Though a flag bearer collapsed during the procession following the coronation ceremony for King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey in central London on May 6, 2023 but was given necessary assistance to resuscitate him.
Another significant factor was the wearing of his grandfather’s crimson velvet robe preceded by an oath and anointed with holy oil, before the St Edward’s Crown was placed on his head.
9News Nigeria reports that the crown placed on King Charles’s head is named after a much earlier version made for the Anglo-Saxon king and saint, Edward the Confessor.
It was made for King Charles II, who wanted a crown similar to the one worn by Edward but even grander.
The first people to greet the newly crowned King Charles at the end of the #Coronation are leaders from many faiths who offer him a welcome which he returns with joy.
The Royal Family sang ‘Praise my Soul, The King of Heaven’ at the cheering of the congregation while the Archbishop of Canterbury led the service.
The kingship is purely based on Christian religion and background and not in any way associated with the level of fetish deities seen prominent in Africa.
Lots of significant factors and thoughts learned from the newly crowned King Charles 111 coronation in London as compiled originally by 9News Nigeria correspodent. The event was indeed a memorable one garnished with a red carpet reception.
