Plateau Government, AGILE and World Bank partner to build 55 new Secondary Schools for greater academic excellence

In a bold move to overhaul the education sector and enhance the learning environment for students, the Plateau State Governor Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in collaboration with Adolescent Girls’ Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE, has awarded contract, for 55 new secondary schools across the state.

This effort aims to further empower the girl child in the state and ensure maximum learning.

At a ceremony held in the Government House, Jos, Governor Mutfwang expresses his appreciation to AGILE and the World Bank for their efforts in this regard.

Mutfwang, In a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the Governor said; “This project, under the Plateau State Adolescent Girls’ Initiative for Learning, AGILE, funded by World Bank, is a crucial investment in improving the learning environment for our students”

The Governor emphasized that the fund allocated for these project are not free grants, urging contractors to strictly adhere to the specified building standards and timeliness.

Meanwhile, the AGILE project coordinator, Shirinkpo Maina, highlights the feature of the schools to include a block of four classrooms, an administrative block, a multipurpose hall, among others, as well as the benefits of the structures across the state.
