The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, issued a directive that his Caretaker Committee Chairmen (CTC) contesting for the forthcoming local government election should do so under the Action People’s Party (APP).
A source revealed that the Governor disclosed this information during an aspirants’ screening process at the Government House.
Governor Fubara said, “I am not going to follow the way and manner the People’s Democratic Party National leaders (NWC) are going about the leadership of our state. It is stated clearly that the Governor in a state automatically is a leader of the political party in the state. Why is my case different?” he said.
“I have directed my supporters to contest the upcoming Local Government Election under the Action People’s Party (APP), and nothing will happen. We are taking over the state,” Fubara assured the Rivers State people.
