English Football Club, Chelsea FC has been rocked by news of a doping investigation involving their star winger, Mykhailo Mudryk.
The Ukrainian international is under scrutiny after an abnormal result was detected in a routine urine test.
Mudryk, who joined Chelsea in January 2023 from Shakhtar Donetsk in a high-profile €70 million transfer, has expressed his disbelief at the development.
In a brief statement, the 22-year-old emphasized his commitment to clearing his name.
“I am shocked by this news, but I am determined to cooperate fully with the investigation and return to the pitch as soon as possible.” He stated.
The club has also acknowledged the ongoing investigation but refrained from providing further details, citing the confidentiality of the process.
“Chelsea is aware of the situation and will support the relevant authorities in their inquiry,” the statement read.
Mudryk’s potential suspension would deal a significant blow to Chelsea, who have relied on the winger’s pace and creativity in their attacking setup.
