Today , Saturday January 4th , 2025, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR was in Enugu State to commission some significant projects executed by the state Governor, His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah.
Some of these projects included, the Enugu International Conference Center, AI- Driven Surveillance Network and Distress Response Squad, primary health care centers, Schools, Urban road amongst others.
President Tinubu at his arrival was given a deserving welcome amid right security network put in place in Enugu state by the Peter Mbah’s administration as 9News Nigeria reports.
Governor Mbah while speaking, welcomed His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Enugu State, where he graciously commissioned several transformative projects executed by our administration.
Among the projects commissioned were: 30 completed Enugu Smart Green Schools out of 260 under construction, 60 equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres across 260 wards, the Enugu International Conference Centre, a hub for global engagement, 90 newly completed urban roads to ease mobility in our cities, and a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre with 150 AI-embedded patrol vehicles for enhanced security.
Mbah hinted that the President’s acknowledgment of the efforts of his administration underscores the essence of our mission.
In his words, “From our investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure to bolstering security, we are laying a solid foundation for a prosperous Enugu State.
“These projects reflect our vision to grow Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion within the next eight years. It is a responsibility we owe to our dear people of Enugu State.
“Security is key to this vision. Our AI-driven surveillance network and the Distress Response Squad have redefined safety across the state. This initiative guarantees peace of mind, ensuring our streets and neighbourhoods remain safe for residents and investors alike.
“I want to assure my dear Ndi Enugu that this is just the beginning. As a government, we shall continue to build the Enugu of our dreams – a hub of opportunity, service delivery, and economic excellence.
“I wholeheartedly echo the President’s call that the elections are behind us and now is the time to unite and drive our nation forward. Regardless of political affiliations, we can build an Enugu State as well as a Nigeria that serves and uplifts everyone.
“Thank you, Mr. President, for your support and recognition of our efforts. Thank you for finding time to visit, as we look forward to seeing you again, Governor Peter Mbah stated.
Recall that the IGP Kayode Egbetokun PhD was in Enugu state before the arrival of the presidential team today Saturday. The stakeholders of All progressive Congress APC and that of the People’s Democratic Party PDP were in attendance.
Governors from the South Eastern region , Senators and Federal representatives and ministers were all in attendance to grace the presidential working visit to Enugu state Saturday.
Meanwhile , Enugu state is synonymous with people’s Democratic party PDP of which the Governor is a product of PDP. But the visit of President Tinubu may likely change the narrative redirecting Peter Mbah’s political drive to the leading APC.
On interview with some dignitaries at the event, “I saw how you were naively eulogizing the president. A so called opposition governor. You can’t see this in other countries where the opposition is supposed to be bold to tell the president the truth. The worst opposition party in the world.
Another told news men that “You see why I like Governor Peter Mbah, he always say “our Administration and our government”, he hardly say “My Administration” unlike some Governors who don’t even have much to offer their people who always say “My Administration/my government”.
Our own Governor Alex Chioma Otti, after seeing so many already completed new projects by Mbah, should go back to Abia, charge himself and start doing the needful, because nde oti mkpu akariala oru odi iru.
Honestly, I pray and wish you change the face of Abia State for good, the same way Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State is doing.
And finally, another said, “Thank you His Excellency the Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah . Thank you for being invisible to the old flock and grassroots politicians that don’t mean well for ndi Enugu.
“You have done so well, eight years is sure and posterity will be kind to you! Please pay attention to activities in the local government areas: the Chairmen must key into your vision and be held accountable as well.
In summary , Enugu state is improving massively on infrastructural development and business hub. And with the policy plan of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, the coal city state is expecting more after the visit of commissioning by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
