Prof. Pius Olanrewaju, President and Chairman of Council, said the project reflected the institute’s commitment to excellence, inclusivity and industry-readiness in Nigeria’s financial services sector.

In a statement, Olanrewaju explained that the fully furnished and equipped facility was a legacy project designed as a centre of excellence for teaching and learning.

He noted that the project was also intended to inspire future generations of finance and banking professionals across the country.

“The commissioning of this hall goes beyond a construction milestone; it heralds a more dynamic academic journey.

“It will serve as a hub where ideas are cultivated, skills sharpened, and tomorrow’s leaders prepared for the evolving landscape of banking and finance,” he said.

Olanrewaju recalled that Babcock University was the first private institution to join the CIBN Linkage Programme.

He noted that the university had consistently produced graduates who were academically sound and often professionally qualified before leaving the institution.

He praised the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ademola Tayo for supporting the project and for sustaining collaboration with CIBN in shaping the profession’s future.

He also acknowledged past presidents of the institute, members of the Legacy Team and council members for their visionary contributions.

Olanrewaju urged students to maximise the facility by fostering curiosity, innovation and professionalism in their academic engagements.

“This hall is a passport to the future, preparing leaders for tomorrow’s financial system.

“It testifies to what academia and industry can achieve when they collaborate effectively,” he said.

The president officially handed over the facility to Babcock University on behalf of CIBN, praying it would serve the community and advance Nigeria’s banking and finance industry.
