Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recorded fresh operational successes in Kaduna and Sokoto states as they rescued a kidnapped victim and foiled a terrorist attack.
In Kaduna, troops of Sector 1 responded to a distress call following the abduction of a 43-year-old man around Awon Community in Kachia Local Government Area on August 20, 2026.
The troops pursued the terrorists into the surrounding bushes, forcing them to abandon the victim and flee the area.
The rescued man was subsequently reunited with his family.
Similarly, in Sokoto State, troops of Sector 2, in collaboration with local security elements, responded to a terrorist attack on Kwaren Gamba Village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area on August 21.
The troops engaged the attackers and forced them to withdraw in disarray.
Meanwhile, during the ensuing pursuit, one terrorist was neutralised, while troops recovered two mobile phones, cash, an ATM card, recharge cards and other items.
The Joint Task Force said the operation, FANSAN YAMMA remains committed to creating a safer environment for communities and denying terrorists freedom of action.
The military then urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible information to security forces to support ongoing operations.
