The National Coordinator and Executive Director of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, George Nwabueze, has denied allegations that he is operating a “fake agency” in the country.
Nwabueze, while reacting to the allegation, insisted that the office is legitimate and has been in existence for the past 16 years.
He also reportedly produced an appointment letter as evidence of his official designation and authority to head the supposed ‘fake’ office.
The development follows controversy surrounding the status and authorisation of the agency.
Questions were raised over its establishment and operations within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Nwabueze maintained that the allegations were unfounded, stressing that the existence and activities of the office predated the current controversy.
He said the appointment letter and other relevant documents would help clarify the circumstances surrounding the office and address claims that it was created without government approval.
