President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has said the Dangote Refinery has become the largest supplier of jet fuel to Europe.
Dangote made the comments on Monday as the Dangote Refinery’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) went live, marking the first refinery to be offered on the Nigerian stock market in the 66-year history of the Nigerian Exchange.
“Europe must really thank Nigeria under the leadership of President Tinubu for keeping their planes flying. I’m very serious,” Dangote said.
He disclosed that the refinery had sold out its available jet fuel for export since August and September respectively, adding that supplies are now being reserved primarily for the Nigerian market.
“Right from August, September, we sold out in terms of jet fuel. We have nothing to sell anymore; we only reserve that for Nigeria,” he said.
The commencement of the refinery’s IPO also represents a significant development for Nigeria’s capital market, bringing the country’s largest refinery to the Nigerian Exchange for public investment.
