A Senior Magistrate’s Court sitting in Jiwa, Abuja, has reportedly issued bench warrants for the arrest of former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, former Senator Ifeanyi Araraume and two others over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and the presentation of false documents.
The other individuals named in the warrants are Timothy Ama Chuks and Amen Okorocha, who are accused, alongside the former governor and Araraume, of involvement in the alleged conspiracy to forge and present false APC primary election results.
According to the information contained in the court documents, the warrants, dated September 9, 2026, authorise police officers to arrest the named individuals and produce them before Senior Magistrate Court 3 in Jiwa, Abuja.
The cases are reportedly registered under suit numbers CR/M/JW/084/2026 and CR/M/JW/085/2026, with the Inspector-General of Police listed as the complainant.
The development comes amid a separate move by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to draw the attention of security agencies to a document allegedly being circulated by Okorocha, claiming that he won the APC senatorial primary for Imo West Senatorial District, also known as Orlu Zone.
In a letter dated 8 October 2026, and signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Imo State, Chukwuemeka Ibeziako, INEC reportedly asked the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate what it described as a purportedly fraudulent and fictitious APC senatorial primary report dated May 18, 2026.
According to the commission, the official primary result submitted to its headquarters by the APC identified Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as the winner of the party’s primary for the Imo West senatorial seat.
INEC maintained that the document allegedly being circulated on social media presents a different account of the exercise by portraying Okorocha as the party’s candidate.
In its communication to the Commissioner of Police in Imo State and the DSS, INEC reportedly enclosed copies of the result it received from the APC and the disputed document to facilitate investigation.
However, the allegations against Okorocha, Araraume and the other individuals remain subject to judicial determination.
