The Imo Forum for Good Governance (IFGG) has advised people of the South East geopolitical zone to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by INEC on the review of the voters registration to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) or shut up forever.
In a press conference in Owerrri, the IFGG, through its national coordinator, Dr Ralph Chikodi, noted that the PVC was the only power every Nigerian adult must use in sending the ruling APC out in the January 16,2027 general elections.
According to him, “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) nationwide. We at IFGG there use this medium to call on Ndigbo allover Nigeria particularly those residing in the South East to go and collect their PVCs in readiness for the 2027 General Elections”.
Chikodi urged Ndigbo never to complain again if they fail to use their PVCs appropriately, insisting that PVC is mightier than complaints.
He said, “One beautiful aspect of democracy is its provision of periodic elections. In Nigeria, it is held in four years. The last General Elections was in 2023. Thus, the next election is in 2027. Do not be deceived, you can complain from Aba to Enugu, back to Abakaliki, to Owerri or Enugu without any success.
“But the moment you grab your PVC on election day, cast your vote for any credible candidate of your choice, you would have made a revolutionary statement that could change the course of history for better. Therefore, no matter how you look at it, PVC can do in one volume what complaints cannot do in four years. In other words, PVC is mightier than complaints”.
The IFGG national coordinator recalled that Nigerians had at one point or the other in the past demonstrated courage and capacity by taking the bulls by horn when it mattered most.
“Nigerians boldly confronted the then ruling PDP in 2015 by using their votes. We had since known that if PDP was bad, the APC has been worse. Having spent 12 years, we are now convinced that the PDP days were paradise compared to the hell we are in currently.
“It goes to say that we are duty bound to invoke the same strategy we adopted and employed on PDP against APC in 2027. This is so because in 2003, the people of Anambra rejected PDP and voted for APGA in the governorship election.
“Imo electorate returned Chief Rochas Okorocha by voting out then governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim. The most recent was in Abia State in 2023 where the masses said no to slavery by electing Dr Alex Otti as their governor. Today, they are reaping the fruits of their beautiful choice. The generality of Ndigbo can do the same and get freedom, prosperity and absolute happiness”, Chikodi expressed.
