Adidas has officially introduced Trionda, the match ball for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be co-hosted by United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Adidas said the ball design has been inspired by unity across continents.
The name Trionda comes from (three) and onda (wave), with the ball’s red, green and blue colour scheme, paying tribiute to the three host nations: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The ball features just four panels, the fewest ever used on an official World Cup ball.
According to Adidas, the new design enhances aerodynamics, accuracy, and control, bringing the “perfect wave” of motion to the global stage.
The official match ball will be used during Northern Ireland’s home World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia on October 10, and Germany on October 13, 2025, at the Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park.
