The Governor of Imo State Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma has acknowledged that most departments are not functioning for years and the others have not been working in the local government council system in Imo state.
Uzodinma made this statement at a swearing-in event of the new appiontees of Government in Owerri.
The governor regretted the laissez faire attitudes of government appiontees mostly that of the local government council members at the twenty seven local government areas of Imo state.
He however charged the newly sworn-in appiontees to change the narrative and showcase good governance in their respective departments.
In his words, “I have observed with dismay that most departments in the Local Government Council are not functional.
The department of Health, Sports and works to mention but a few.
Meanwhile, governor Uzodimma has finally Sworn-in IMHA Service Commission members, 3 Commissioners and 27 Sole Administrators at the Imo State Government House Exco Chamber.
However, it is very evident to note that such lackadaisical Officials will henceforth be sacked because such attitudes may lead to the scrapping of such departments at the local government level.
The event recorded crowds of personalities and top Government Officials too numerous to mention.
