All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), today released names of successful Aspirants that scared through their screening process which took place at the national Secretariat, Abuja on 10th June 2021.
There were rumors making round alleging that not fewer than 5 Governorship Aspirants under the platform of APGA were disqualified by the screening panel on the just concluded APGA screening exercise that took place in Abuja. The entire State was charged with lots of mixed feelings after the News break out, but the people of Anambra were kept on suspense waiting for an official pronouncement from the party.
Today being the 14th June 2021. APGA break silence as the party went on to officially release the result of the just concluded screening exercise with remarks on why most of the disqualified Aspirants cannot participate in the forthcoming primary election on 23rd June 2021.
The names of those Aspirants that were cleared and disqualified are listed below, and we will give you a rundown of remarks made by the party on why they were disqualified.
APGA Disqualifies;
- Hon. China Umeoji
- Nze Amachukwu Nwankwo
- Cater Dike Umeh
- Hon. Nonso Smart
- Ozoka Orders Ifeanyi
Those cleared are;
- Prof Chukwuma Soludo
- Damian Okolo
- ThankGod One
- Ezenwankwo Okwudili Ewepudike
We took time to go through the remarks in order to give you an extract of what the party presented to Anambra State party faithful.
- Ozoka Ordera Ifeanyi:
It was stated that he is Less than 18 Months in the party as a member, required NWC waiver, but he didn’t apply for it neither did he obtain it. They also stated that he is not an eligible voter in Anambra State but in Abuja. His nominators fell short of the 2/3 spread of APGA members in the 21 LGA of Anambra State, Hence not qualified to contest the primaries. - Okafor Nonso:
The party stated that due to his defiance and Insubordination to party authority and supremacy, which cast a dark shadow of doubt on the genuineness and credibility of his APGA membership. His nominators fell short of the 2/3 spread of APGA members in the 21 LGA of Anambra State. Hence, he is not qualified to contest the primaries. - Nwankwo Amachukwu Sullivan:
The party stated that he is less than 18 Months in the party as a member, he requires NWC waiver which he did not apply for it neither did he obtain it. His nominators fell short of the 2/3 spread of APGA members in the 21 LGA of Anambra State. Hence, not qualified to contest the primaries.
- Chukwuma Umeoji
The party stated that due to defiance and Insubordination to party authority and super, which cast a dark shadow of doubt on the genuineness and credibility of his APGA membership, he is considered as an unsuitable APGA member to participate in the Governorship primary election at the moment. They further went on to state about the doubtful financial Status of his nominators as APGA members. Submission of invalid statutory declaration of age, and Gross alteration and mutilation of his nomination form, which contains an affidavits under oath, contrary to section 117(2) of the evidence Act. Hence, not qualified to contest the primaries.
- Umeoduagu Nnamdi Dike Cater:
The party stated that due to defiance and Insubordination to party authority and supremacy, which cast a dark shadow of doubt on the genuineness and credibility of his APGA membership. It is considered as an unstable APGA member to participate in the Governorship primary election at the moment. Hence, not qualified to contest the primaries.
In a statement signed by the National organizing secretary , APGA he advised that unsuccessful Aspirants (not cleared) are at liberty to exercise their right of appeals, “In Writing Only”, as stipulated by the Article 10(1) of the APGA electoral guidelines for Anambra State Governorship primary election 2021. That the decision of the screening Committee or screening panel is liable to vote by the National Working Committee, which is the final authority in terms of Aspirant eligibility, he added.
