The Struggle To Rig PDP Primary Election by Sen. Uche Ekwunife and Dr Obiora Okonkwo Has Taken Another Dimension.

Barrister Anayo Okeke (Awka)

Last Friday, PDP held its congress to elect 3 man adhoc delegates for the forthcoming June 26th PDP primary in Awka. The Congress which went successful in almost all parts of the state turned out to be a jamboree in Anaocha where the head of the Congress team sent to many local government connived with either Uche Ekwunife or Obiora Okonkwo in a bid to doctor the adhoc list of all the local government against Dr. Godwin maduka.

Team Ekwunife who has always been at the neck of team Obiora Okonkwo had taken the matter to the media linking the ugly situation to have being masterminded by one Sir Chris Chikwelu Jr who has long been known as a man of integrity and sincerity.

Team Ekwunife claimed that Dr. Obiora Okonkwo bribed Sir Chikwelu with 3m naira while Sir Chikwelu had officially debunked the allegation. Sir Chikwelu in his statement issued by his Facebook handle had given the perpetrator of the allegation 5 days to tender apologies in not less than 5 dailies within or face the wrath of law.

Sen Ekwunife who is currently representing Anambra Central at Senate had long claimed to be an aspirant from Anambra South while Dr. Obiora Okonkwo is from Ogidi in Idemili North LGA. The duo are not from the area of consideration giving to the political permutations and dynamism of the state, yet the both had always been in a banter while the delegates are not in any way considering the fact that they can’t win the election for the party due to the zoning formula .

It has become an impediment that the duo of Ekwunife and Okonkwo are trying to create discrepancies in the party just because of their selfish interest that can’t profit our great party at the end of the day.

It’s quite unfortunate that after thorough explanation and deliberation between the Deputy Governor of Taraba state (Chairman Adhoc Congress Committee for Ananbra PDP Primary Election) and all the aspirants of PDP, Sen. Ekwunife still went ahead to tamper with Anaocha Adhoc lists. As if that’s not enough, she went further to abuse the image of a gentle and humble personality in the person of Sir Chris Chikwelu (Ichele Agulu).

It’s time the Leadership of PDP both State and National level cautioned Sen. Ekwunife so as to avoid the internal coax she is trying to create just because she wants to answer a former Governorship candidate of PDP because its obvious that she can’t win the election for the party. Though i am not against her ambition but am only against her dubious moves to actualize it which can’t bear a favourable fruit for PDP. Let the right thing be done to salvage the party from never do wells or the PDP in Anambra State will continue to be a lame duck.
