Luis Aragones’ long-standing mark was overtaken by the France star against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday
Antoine Griezmann has become Atletico Madrid’s all-time leading scorer in Europe.
The French attacker scored to make it 2-0 against Bayer Leverkusen in Tuesday’s Champions League round-of-16 first leg, his 13th goal for Atletico in European competition.
The strike means the 25-year-old surpassed the tally of Atletico legend Luis Aragones, who scored 12 times in Europe for the Rojiblancos.
At such a young age, Griezmann could make his record untouchable in future seasons – but he won’t get that chance if a rumoured move to Manchester United materialises in the near future.
