ASIWAJU’S CHATHAM HOUSE STATEMENT: THE OBIDIENTS’ CLUTCH OF A DROWNING MOB

The attention of the leadership of The Asiwaju Group (TAG) has been drawn to news making round about the opprobrium from a headless mob called the ‘Obidients’ on social media on a viral video alleging that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s statement recently at the Chatham House, London is responsible for the chaos that rocked some Polling Units in a handful of States in the ongoing Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The headless Obidient group which are largely on social media have permeated the cyberspace with name-calling of the leading contender and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing his statement after the popular Chatham House in which progressives stated that “political office is not served à la carte and that young progressives must prepare to dissipate their energy to take charge” and prescribing that to ballot box snatching that were either carted away or destroyed in a handful of Polling Units in Lagos State in particular.

Speaking on the latest issue, the Convener, The Asiwaju Group (TAG), Dr. Mustapha Abdullåhi who also doubles as the Deputy Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, United Kingdom has described the latest outburst of the headless movement who are more of a scalar quantity with no direction as fallacy. In his words, Dr. Abdullåhi asked Nigerians to discountenance their ranting, describing same as the rant of a drowning mob who had latched on their phantom popularity and acceptance to win the election.

“I attended the event in London where Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our candidate met with Nigerians in the Diaspora in an interactive session to intimate diaspora Nigerians of his action plan for the country, her people and those domiciled outside the country. Contrary to the narrative currently being spin by the Obidient clowns, Asiwaju did not at any point asked APC members to snatch ballot boxes. What he said was an agnus dei, an allegory for young members of the Progressives to play participatory politics so that their interest is not subverted. Asiwaju encouraged the youths to participate fully in politics as no one would give them power on a platter of gold without active participation. He told them to stand up for rightfully belongs to them as party faithful and youngsters, take over leadership positions as the older generation would not willingly relinquish power to them.” The APC stalwart submitted.

We are not in any way flabbergasted by the antics of these agents of mischief and propaganda, neither are we oblivious of their desperation to stick their mob narrative. It is their idiosyncrasy. Contrary to the narrative out there by these losers, the viral video was cut to suite their warped and jaundiced narrative to hoodwink the public playing on the gullibility of the non-discerning to run to town with such narrative. The Asiwaju Group (TAG) Convener, Dr. Mustapha Abdullåhi who was live at the Chatham House event and recorded it has therefore decided to release the full version of the video for public scrutiny.

Finally, we want to use this medium to plead with the drowning opposition to seize from this deceit and fake narrative and advise the general public to discard the antics of these jokers who are mere distractions. They fear the defeat that stirs them glaringly in the face and will want to clutch on anything, even straw to stay afloat.
