BBC goes behind scenes of King Charles first year reign

The BBC is set to feature exclusive footages of the King and Queen in the first year of King Charles’s reign in a film.

Camera crews were given this access to the King and Queen after the death of Queen Elizabeth, leading up to the coronation and the months following.

The 90-minute documentary is narrated by actress Helena Bonham Carter, who played the late Queen’s sister Princess Margaret in The Crown.

The BBC said the programme features “moments of great poignancy and humour” and is due to air in December as part of its Christmas programming.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time the Royal Family has given TV cameras access to their day to day lives as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip allowed the BBC and ITV to film behind the scenes for a documentary in 1969.
