BORNO FLOOD: People With Disability Affected By Flood Gets Support From Government

People With Disability that were affected by flood disaster in Borno State’s capital, Maiduguri have recieve support from the state government.

The support includes food and non-food items to 200 PWDs.

The distribution took place on Sunday at the Peace Ambassador Centre for Humanitarian Aid and Empowerment (PACHE) office, Maiduguri.

During the program, Barr. Hauwa Abubakar Isa Commissioner for Justice Attorney General of the state, expressed sympathy for the victims and assured them of continued government support.

‘You are always in my mind, and we will continue to support you,’ she said during the distribution ceremony.

Ambassador Ahmed Shehu, the founder of PACHE, and Ambassador Usman Aliyu, the Director-General of BOAGGW, praised the government for its support and emphasized the need for such assistance for PWDs, who are often more vulnerable to the effects of disasters.

Hasana Mohammed Bunu, the National Women Leader of the Borno State Chapter, also commended the government for the relief efforts.

She noted that the distribution would help mitigate the severe hardships faced by PWDs due to the floods.

The distribution included 10kg bags of rice and blankets for 100 male beneficiaries and wrappers and mats for 100 female beneficiaries.

Bunu also called on the government to consider the unique needs of PWDs and provide them with appropriate assistance in crowded areas.
