Enugu Air has confirmed that one of its aircraft operating into Benin Airport veered off the runway after landing on Thursday.
In an official statement, the airline assured the public that all passengers and crew members safely disembarked from the aircraft without any injuries or fatalities.
According to the airline, the aircraft has been secured, while the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with established safety procedures. It added that an assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway.
Enugu Air also disclosed that the incident may result in temporary adjustments to some of its flight schedules. Passengers affected by any changes will be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance.
“The safety of our passengers, crew, and operations remains our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to provide updates through our official communication channels,” the airline said in the statement.
The cause of the runway excursion has not yet been determined, and aviation authorities are expected to investigate the incident.
