Sequel the publication of embezzlement of 24.13 trillion Local Governmen funds by crincad and cari NIgeria limited, a consultant firm, the apex Socio-cultural youth organization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Ohanaeze Youth Council OYC has cautioned Gov. Charles Soludo to desist from tolling the corrupt paths of his Predecessors.

The Council warned Soludo against any form of involvement in embezzlement of Local Government funds as reported by 9News Nigeria.

The National president Council, Comrd. Igboayaka O. Igboayaka who gave this warning at Abuja on Thursday 23rd June 2022, alleged that Gov. Charles Soludo had not accounted for 3 months Local Government statutory allocation from the federation account for the months of March, April, and May, 2022.

According to Comrade Igboayaka, Anambra State has not conducted Local Government election since April 2002, which he said marked the end of the tenure of elected chairmen and councillors conducted by the INEC, on December 5, 1998, under Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar military rule.

“It will be recalled that a federal high court sitting in Abuja had dismissed the suit filled by Nigeria Governors Forum(NGF) against the financial Intelligent Unit(NFIU) on 23 of May, 2022, as being unmerited”, he said

Ohanaeze Youth Council, therefore, urged Gov. Charles Soludo to account for 3 months Local Government allocation under his watch.

The Council insisted that the Governor should hold a local government election as stipulated by the law section 7(1) constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended in 1999.

Ohanaeze Youth Council also implored the former CBN Governor to aide in recovering local government funds, which he asserted were embezzled by previous governments of Anambra State which formed part of 24.13 trillion naira as reported by the same firm.

Comrade Igboayaka criticized Soludo for imbibing the selfish attribute of a typical Nigerian politician other than sticking to his original character of a true Economist, a perceived quality that endeared him to the people, hence his victorious emergence as the Governor.

The youth leader queried Soludo’s blunt refusal to hold a local government election instead of resorting to hand-picking Caretaker Committees from among his folks, which he bemoaned would degenerate to “Unknown Government resulting in unknown Gunmen insurgency”

“It’s regrettable that Charles Soludo has became a core Nigeria politician, instead of an economist he claimed to be, his survival is more important to him than holding local government election, as he has appointment his political Cronies as Transition Committee just for mere political compensation.

“It’s truism that Gov. Charles Soludo has joined past and present Governors to feed very fast on local government funds with impunity.
