There was massive jubilation in Umuikea Umuoma Nekede in Owerri West local government area of Imo State Nigeria by the release of Mr Umunna Onyeukwu from his Abductors.
His release took place three days after his abduction by unknown armed men who trailed him from his way back home from a football training session in Umuoma central school playground on Sunday the third day of July 2022.
Our correspodent reports that the Lagos based Business Man has gained his freedom from men of the dark world few hours after our Publication calling on Imo state government and the security agencies to assist on unraveling the abductors.
Earlier today the Youths of the area both home and in the diaspora have condemned the sudden abduction of one of their law abiding citizen, Umunna Onyeukwu by unknown gunmen.
While thanking the Imo state government for their speedy intervention to rescue the young man, Umuoma People are asking for immediate tracking of the kidnappers to face their odeal.
They however appreciated the Imo state police command and other relevant agencies for their respective efforts and calls to rescue the young man.
Recall that the abduction took place on Sunday 3-07-2022 at about 19:05 hrs at his country home in Umuikea Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community in Owerri West local government area of Imo Statetate Nigeria and he was freed on Thursday the seventh day of July 2022.
The Vigilante commander in the area, Mr Emmanuel Chikezie and his team has confirmed his release but his vehicle is yet to be freed from the police command.
Monarch Omadike had earlier stated that there should be no reoccurrence while at the same time , urged his subjects to re examine their lifestyle and live right and in the fear of the Lord day in day out. He commended the law enforcement agency for their intervention.
At the time of this report, a call to a former youth leader of the area and a leader in Umuikea town in Umuoma Nekede, Comrade Chinedu Ejiogu Shanka confirmed the release of their brother Umunna Onyeukwu whom he said was having his rest after passing through such a traumatic experience.
There is no doubt the young man will narrate his urgly experience in the hands of his abductors possibly after his traumatic recovery and thanksgiving to God for his life.
