Indeed is a sad day for the Benue State chapter of the All Progressive Congress {APC} as one of their local government Chairman is confirmed dead alledged to be poisen.

Hon.Simeon Yongo the chairman APC, Vandeikya Local government Area Of Benue State, was confirmed dead by friends and associates on Facebook.

9News Nigeria recalls that,Hon.Yongo was of the Austin Agada’s led faction of the Benue APC said to be loyal to the Nigeria’s Secretary General Of The Federation (SGF),Sen.George Akume.

Hon.Yongo, after the 2023 general elections that produced his brother as the Governor,Rev.Fr.Hyacinth Iormem Alia, there was a rift between the Nigeria’s SGF and the governor which led to division.

Those for Austin Agada were said to be loyal to the SGF while those for Omakolo were loyal to the governor.Courageously, Simeon Yongo stood with Agada’s faction symbolising his loyalty to the SGF until his death.

9News Nigeria also gathered that,Hon. Yongo,because of his loyalty,was some time attacked by hoodlums said to be loyal to the Governor’s camp but luckily for him, he was not killed in the process although was injured and hospitalized according to a video that was shared on Facebook by an erstwhile chairman of Gboko local government area of the state,Hon.Abua Crucial Yaji with the Late Yongo.

His Colleagues have since taken to social media to mourn him describing him as a courageous man and that he will greatly be missed for his unalloyed loyalty to the SGF’S camp.

Reacting to this sad incident,the APC chairman Guma local government area of the state,Hon. Lazarus Asema alledged that,late Yongo was killed via poison and he pray God to rest his soul.
