Wednesday, September 18, 2024 witnessed peaceful development as Ukum residents had a sigh of relief following a peace and reconciliation meeting between leaders of two warring groups held in Chito The Rival Militias Led By The Dreaded Duo Identified as ‘Full Fire’ and ‘Chen’ Declares An End To Killings,Banditary and robbery in the area.
Traditional and religious leaders, elders, Youth and women converge at Chito, Adzendeshi ward to make peace by reconciling Terhemen Mzaga (Full Fire) and Chen.
According to eyewitness, Full Fire and his boys were in attendance while Chen couldn’t attend but his group members apologized on his behalf for failure to appear and represented him as well.
Speaking at the meeting, Full Fire appreciated Traditional and religious leaders for calling them together for reconciliation.
He further said that, for the sake of peaceful coexistence, he and his group have forgiven everyone who had hurt them intentionally or unintentionally adding that, he holds no grudges against anyone anymore.
He expressed disappointment why chen wasn’t in attendance saying they should have embrace each other as a sign of peace and Love.
Chen boys however agreed to consider Full Fire as their leader noting that, coming together will aid them fight external forces who may intend to take over Ukum Local government fertile land with a vow that henceforth, no such attack would be witnessed again.
Traditional rulers also warned their colleagues against indulging in acts that will tranish their images insisting that, any traditional ruler that goes against the decision shall be dethroned immediately.
Both groups promised to surrender arms for business and farming activities to resume and boost economic well being of Ukum Local government and Benue State at large.
